  • Is it true that I can only bring my vehicle to the dealer for factory scheduled maintenance during the warranty period?

Not true. Any NYS registered repair shop can perform factory scheduled maintenance during warranty period without voiding your warranty. Stop paying high prices at dealers that help pay for fish tanks and cappuccino machines in the lobby!

In addition to our computer invoicing program that has all vehicle makes and models listed, we have an internet based information system that has all schedules listed by mileage and time.

  • Is it true that I have to use the Insurance Company’s repair shops when paying through insurance?

Not true. Section 167C of the New York State Law states YOU HAVE THE RIGHT to have your car repaired in the registered shop of your choice. Your insurance company cannot direct you otherwise.

We work with all Insurance Companies. We manage your claim and protect your interests by dealing with your Insurance Company directly for a stress-free experience.

  • Will insurance pay the shop directly or will I be reimbursed for the full amount?

You may legally designate your repair shop to handle the settlement with your insurance company. Your insurance company must negotiate in good faith. You are entitled to a prompt, fair settlement to repair your car to it’s pre-accident condition. This includes parts of like, kind and quality equal to original equipment.

  • How do I designate J & F Auto Body to manage my vehicle repair and Insurance settlement?

To make your experience as stress-free as possible, inform your Insurance Company that you wish to use your own repair shop and request that your car be towed directly to our shop. We work with the Insurance Appraiser as your Representative to protect your interests.

  • The estimate from my Insurance Company is less than yours. Am I responsible for the difference?

No, Insurance estimates are just that – estimates. We will contact the Insurance Company on your behalf and negotiate a supplemental payment to cover additional expenses.

In the future, you can request your car be towed directly to our shop and have the Insurance Appraiser perform inspections here. We can handle the negotiation of your settlement for you and ensure that your vehicle is restored to pre-accident condition.

  • My car’s frame is damaged. Will it ever be the same again?

Today’s vehicles are engineered with sophisticated impact systems that greatly improve safety and are specifically designed to minimize the force of impact on passengers and the engine core. After a crash, a vehicle can often look as if it is totaled. Our shop utilizes equally sophisticated, state-of-the-art equipment that electronically senses imbalances in your vehicle’s frame and can make major and minute adjustments to fully align and balance your vehicle.
